About Kay
Kay Johnson
Free-lance artist since 1957, graduate of the arts of Omaha, NE, television art director, various honorable mentions including IA Art Directors, managed a silk screen printing company, awarded various honors of design in coins and murals.
Past work has been displayed in schools, churches, private homes, banquets and business offices in the southwestern region of the midwest.
Realizing this talent as a gift from God in the form of a close relationship with her dearest friend, her mother and her older sister. Being of ill health most of her life, drawing was an entertainment and a joy shared with her family, teachers and friends.
First real accomplishment was a comic book fashion design contest, then the house decorations at Christmas time, then fancy ladies with big hats made out of the eggs for Easter.
Being happily married, mother of three wonderful children (who are encouraging me to continue in art), I’m retired and grandmom of three and really looking forward to growing more with art expressions from Marenette.
